Ingredients
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) sweet potato puree (about 1 small sweet potato cooked and mashed)
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) applesauce without added sugar
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) canola oil
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) maple syrup (or honey)
- 60 ml (1/ 4 cup) milk
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) canola oil
- 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) vanilla extract
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) wheat flour whole
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) unsweetened cocoa
- 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 8 nuts (pecans, almonds, or hazelnuts), crushed
Steps
1 - Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a small square mold (approximately 15x15 cm) by covering it with baking paper.
2 - Steam the sweet potato or in the oven until 'until it is very tender, then reduce it to a smooth puree using a blender or a fork.
3 - In a bowl, mix the sweet potato puree, the compote of apples, oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract and milk mix until smooth.
4 - In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and pinch of salt mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
5 - If using nuts, add them to the dough and mix gently to distribute. evenly.
6 - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth top with a spatula.
7 - Bake for 12 minutes, or until the surface of the brownie is firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out slightly moist but not soggy.
8 - Leave to cool in the mold for 10 minutes, then carefully unmold and cut into small pieces.
